Getting Here

It’s easy to fly to Houston as it’s a major hub. We often see prices of $250-$300 flying here from either coast.

We have two major airports, George Bush International (IAH) which is northeast of the city, and Hobby (HOU) which is south. Since the dance venue and hotel are northwest of the city, it’s easier to look first to fly in via IAH. However JetBlue and SouthWest Airlines (which might have cheaper fares) fly out of HOU. Without traffic, a car ride from IAH to the hotel or to the dance venue might be about 30 min (maybe $20-30), and from HOU it would be closer to 45 min (maybe $30-40).

If you’re driving to Houston, we suggest letting your phone’s GPS do the work, as the highway system is up-to-date and smooth. (The same can’t be said for Houston side streets!)

Getting around

Houston is a vibrant metropolis, by some measures having already surpassed Chicago as America’s third largest city. Houston is also a car-based city. Think LA rather than NYC or SF. Don’t expect much bus or subway coverage. But Uber and Lyft are plentiful and easy.

From the Galleria, which is where we suggest you find a hotel, a Uber to the dance venue might be $7-10.
